‘Elemental: Air’ is part of the ELEMENTAL series, which consists of four separate authentic art pieces that together make up the four elements. An ‘elemental’ is a spirit or mythic being that is tied to one of the four elements of nature; Earth, Fire, Water and Air. Elementals return in many folklores and stories in various cultures, and each elemental being has its own power and strength residing in the element it represents. They watch over you when you are surrounding yourself with nature, for example when walking in the forest, sitting by the river or lying in a grass meadow. In our paintings, you see half their faces – for most people they are not visible at all – to show the viewers a glimpse of these guardians of nature and to cherish these safekeepers of planet earth!
